Brace yourselves, cat lovers! It's that time of year again. Monday, November 17th is National Black Cat Day.
HOORAAAAAY! |
Yes, Furball. We know. It's exciting.
And what better way to celebrate than by adopting a black cat of your very own! Throughout the year, black cats tend to rule our adoption centers. Not only do black cats tend to wait around longer for their forever homes, but if you are a black adult cat living in a shelter, the chances of being adopted quickly are pretty slim -- even if you are the most outgoing, easy, lovable cat in the universe. Why, you ask? We honestly have no clue. Here at HSSV, staff and volunteers are unanimously agreed that black cats are the BEST cats around! But don't take our word for it...
We asked our available black cats at all four of our adoption centers to describe themselves in six words. Needless to say, it was adorable.
Bigura and Furball:
A pair of panthers that...
Treats.
A pair of panthers that...
Treats.
Bigura and Furball may be a bit distracted by the promise of a good treat, but they could very well be mistaken for panthers -- their super silky, shiny coats have the other shelter cats green with envy. They have been together since they were wee kittens, so they are looking for a home that has room for two treat-loving cats with awesome personalities. They are available for adoption at our Milpitas Animal Community Center.
Natasha:
More than just a Halloween cat.
Natasha is a fun, active little girl who LOVES her people. Feather wands are her weakness, but you didn't hear it from us. If you think of black cats as "Halloween cats," Natasha will make you think again. She is sweet 365 days of the year. Natasha is available for adoption at our Mountain View Adoption Center.
Kate (and Goldie, by default):
These two are simply inseparable. Goldie may not be a black cat herself, but she gives her baby Kate the confidence she needs to own that shiny coat of hers. Goldie and Kate are available for adoption at our West San Jose Adoption Center.
Armand:
I'm all yours, ladies.
What? That's only four words? Well, whatever. I'm a cat, I can't count.
A suave and debonair fellow with an irresistibly soft coat, Armand proves that black really IS the new black. Armand is available at our Sunnyvale Adoption Center.
So wherever you live in the Silicon Valley, there is a black cat (or two!) ready to go home with you this National Black Cat Day. Celebrate together.
See you Monday!
See you Monday!
